Day Twenty-Five

Today was very zoomed in: I focused entirely on my article. I finished implementing the edits that my English teacher had recommended and followed up in person to clear up some confusion about one of them. I also read it over myself and requested family and friends to review it. I once more used AI as a proofreader (again, to ensure that its role didn’t extend beyond editing, I told the chatbot explicitly not to rewrite anything). One of the suggestions I received required some hefty additions: different paragraphs felt very separate, so I had to weave them together. I accomplished this by adding new evidence and information, allowing the piece to flow more seamlessly as one argument rather than as three distinct subworks. I sent a document with the article in its current state to all three of my interviewees, letting them know that it might be published and asking whether they felt comfortable with that (as well as the quotes I’d used). I let them know that I might make some changes to the article prior to submission and that, while I would likely not change the quotes I’d used, I would let them know if I did.

Finally, I did some work on my project homepage in the “About the Project” section: I made some changes since my execution had varied slightly from my plan (for example, I’d planned to conduct 4 interviews but only ended up doing 3 and had to update this on the site).
