Day Seventeen

Today was a planning-oriented day. I received a response from the admin member I’d communicated with yesterday (Day Sixteen), saying that the following Monday would be an appropriate time, as well as that we should meet at a lunchtime prior to the date to discuss logistics. We decided to meet tomorrow in the cafeteria to go over any questions I had.

Since I had decided to write an article as well, I had to begin building it up from the ground. I drafted a thesis, essentially asserting that, from what I’d been told, the US healthcare system didn’t support the rare disease community. I also found quotes in my interview transcripts that supported this statement.

Finally, I’d turned on GoFundMe’s automated goal setting when I’d started my fundraiser (meaning that it would change my goal based on how my initiative was going). Today, it increased my goal from $500 to $600, since I was getting close to the original.
