Day Eight

Today, I started promoting the fundraiser that I’d set up the previous day. My first step was to design and print out flyers on Canva that I intended to put up both at school and near my house. Since this was a financial initiative, I knew I needed permission from the school and reached out to my teacher to figure out who to request authorization from. In my own area, I tacked flyers on the mailboxes in both my and adjoining communities. Additionally, I visited the homes of those I knew and handed out the leaflets to them.

I also began some basic online outreach. To keep the process uniform, I created a message template that encouraged all recipients to donate to the linked GoFundMe and/or share with anyone who might be interested in contributing. I shared this template with individual friends and in large group chats (such as my neighborhood residents chat). At school, I intend to release an announcement on MS Info so that all members of the middle school community can see it, but I’m holding off for the moment because I need permission to go ahead with that as well.

(From today moving forward, I will put in an update about the quantity of donations that have been raised for that day.)
