Day One
Today is Day One of my 30-Day project, Living Rare! The goal of this project is to learn more about rare diseases by conducting interviews with RD nonprofit workers; to raise funds for nonprofits doing incredible work for individuals with these conditions and their families; and to create some sort of final product synthesizing the information from the previously mentioned interviews.
This was a “Launch Day” of sorts. I sent emails containing Google Meet links to my interviewees in preparation for our upcoming sessions and requested consent to record them during our conversation. I also set up a Google Workspace account, which I needed to record the discussions.
I also made myself a project timeline (by week) and checklist, with full knowledge that it is subject to and likely will change. However, the baseline allows me to keep track of everything I have and still need to complete, and will also help me recognize where I am at the end of each checkpoint in relation to where I originally estimated I would be. This will hopefully encourage me to change my approach and tactics if I’m not reaching all of my goals.
I’m really excited to get this going!
